Glad You Came is “[...] a song I wrote to remind myself that there is a place for me and that I shouldn’t worry so much about whether others like me or not.” says Jacob Bellens. “A song about not having to hide because no one cares as much about your flaws as you do and that everyone is happy that you came to the party. 

It has a millennial R&B vibe and has several obvious references both production-wise and melodically to the genre and is a tribute to the aesthetics of the period. TLC’s ‘No Scrubs’, Justin Timberlake ‘Cry me a river’, JoJo’s Too little too late’ and Craig David’s ‘7 days’ are all songs that have inspired the production. I’ve always loved that sound and feel it’s been back for quite a few years now, which I love.”
