Meet Bryan Kessler

The Sisters & Brothers series is constantly expanding and the latest addition to the big lovingly family is Cologne-based producer Bryan Kessler, who has already made his mark with the legendary trippy 'New Feel, Pt.1' EP. His new release (out 02.02.18) fits perfectly into the off-kilter ethos of the series. But before we see him working the magic in the four upcoming tracks, curators / sisters Kasper Bjørke and Sexy Lazer asked him a few questions:

Do you consider yourself a Sister or a Brother?
I am whatever you want me to be! Usually I would say a brother but in case working with Kasper and Sexy i should be more like a sister.

What is your plan for 2018 in terms of music?
In March i will continue my radio show on Radio Cómeme called 'Irrational Fiction'.
I will release the second part of my 'New Feel' series, where I tried to combine all the styles of music I do. Weather it’s slow but distorted club music dubbed with vocal loops and live percussion or more tricky songs with heavy punky guitars.
There will be a new release on Glasgow based label Numbers run by my friend Jackmaster. My Band Pollywogs will release their second longplayer after several EPs and tour around. As working in the studio as a producer and mixer I have a lot of different projects with artists coming up. I am also in the studio to mix down the debut album for secret underground star Marvin Horsch. There’s always a lot to do:)

What is your favorite Sisters & Brothers track so far?
I was totally flashed by 'Your soul is like the wind' by Love Business. Could def. become one of my all time favs!

Vinyl or digital - or both?
Def. both! I am a true vinyl collector and lover and player but it depends on the record. But also kind of bored of that strictly vinyl nazis. Everyone should decide what he or she wants to play. Sometimes you need to play a track which you have only digitally. I don’t see a problem. Some DJ’s I know play with laptop and if their sets bang, what’s the matter? Everyone should do it like they want to do it. As long as the result is a nice set, there should be no talking about topics like this.

Summer or Winter Olympics?
Summer! But sadly I’ve never been on winter holidays, I should def stop go surfing and try to put my feet on snowboard this year!
